Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Aspirus Iron River. This 13-week contract opportunity requires experienced RNs to provide general nursing care on a 25-bed Med/Surg unit. The position involves working primarily with geriatric patients, and candidates with both Med/Surg and Emergency Department experience are highly preferred.

Job Details

• Position Description: RADIUS RULE: MUST BE OUTSIDE 50 MILES OF FACILITY. Contract length: 13 weeks; start date: 11/09/2026; end date: 02/06/2027.
• Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, with a schedule of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Michigan RN license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, minimum of 2+ years of Med/Surg experience, associate degree or certificate in nursing.
• Preferred Qualifications: Emergency Department experience, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• System Skills: Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Record, CareScape patient monitors, and Pyxis pharmacy system.
• Responsibilities: Provide general nursing care focused on geriatric patients with conditions such as CHF, COPD, and diabetes. Support includes charting, patient monitoring, medication management, and collaboration within a 25-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:4, 1:5 days, and 1:6 nights.
• Additional Notes: Candidates with both Med/Surg and Emergency Department experience are highly preferred. Flexibility to work across units is ideal; however, Med/Surg-only candidates will also be considered.
• Scrub Colors: Any colored scrubs.
• Unit Information: 25-bed Med/Surg unit, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
• Float: Float to Emergency Department within competency required.
