Job Summary
The organization is seeking an Operating Room (OR) Nurse for a travel assignment in the specialized surgical environment. This role involves providing comprehensive perioperative care across various surgical specialties, with opportunities for cross-training to Endoscopy. The position is focused on supporting a fast-paced surgical unit with diverse cases, excluding open-heart procedures.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  Unit notes include a 50-mile radius rule; all submissions must include a copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license. Experience in all areas of the operating room is required. The role involves cross-training to Endoscopy. The schedule consists of four 10-hour night shifts per week, with call-in rotation, including one weeknight call every four weeks from 7 PM to 7 AM and one weekend call shift on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, up to 24 hours per 13-week contract. The unit has 11 rooms, with 8 OR suites and 3 Endoscopy suites, handling about 65 cases daily, including vascular, general, orthopedic, neuro, ENT, and eye surgeries, utilizing various advanced equipment and robotic surgery. Candidates should have experience with Baxter pumps and, preferably, DaVinci Robot experience. The facility handles all types of cases except for open-heart surgeries.

• Required Qualifications:
  BLS Certification; minimum of 2 years of experience; valid and unexpired Drivers License; ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment; experience in all areas of the OR; training in patient safety and infection control standards.

• Schedule:
  12-hour night shifts, with weekends scheduled as needed, minimum of 36 hours per week.
