The Operating Room (OR) RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment within a healthcare facility. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing nursing interventions, ensuring safety, and supporting a healing environment for diverse surgical patients.

Job Details

• Position Description: The OR RN protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses, advocating for individuals and families in the surgical setting. The RN is committed to compliance with standards of practice, professional development, and ethical guidelines, contributing to patient-centered care.
• Required Qualifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, graduation from an accredited school of Nursing, current New York State Registered Nurse License, minimum 6 months of RN experience in acute care or ambulatory settings, and at least 1 year of nursing experience.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts with 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, including every other weekend (24 hours on Saturday and Sunday), and 2 to 3 evening shift call hours spanning from end of shift to start of next shift.
• Additional Information: The role requires clinical proficiency in cardiovascular surgical procedures and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication, critical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic surgical environment.
