Job Summary
Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor Nurse Night Shift Location Pending. This role involves providing specialized care on a post-acute rehab unit with a focus on neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac, and complex medical patients. The position requires strong neuro skills and adherence to unit-specific protocols, including participating in team conferences and learning QRP and rehab documentation.

Job Details

• Position: RN - Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor, Nights
• Schedule: 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week minimum
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or initiation of application process, BLS certification, 1 year of relevant nursing experience, knowledge of neuro patient care, and strong neuro skills.
• Common diagnoses / patient types: Neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac, complex medical patients (including trachs but no vents).
• Additional responsibilities: Attend team conferences, learn QRP and rehab documentation, perform triage and patient monitoring using tele packs, and participate in orientation including 2 days of class and 2-3 days with a preceptor.
• Float: Float to LTAC/med-surg units as needed; no float to HAU unless trained.
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs, no T-shirts unless approved.
• Charting System: EPIC
• CMS bed count: 29 beds with a 5:1 day and 6:1 night nurse-patient ratio.
