Job Summary
Operating Room Nurse Location: unspecified. This position provides direct patient care in a hospital setting, utilizing the nursing process to ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care. The role involves collaborating with healthcare teams and patients, administering medications and treatments, and supervising clinical staff.

Job Details

• Floating between departments and or local locations within 20 miles is required.
• Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
• Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
• Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and document according to policy.
• Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
• Assume responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM start, 8-hour shift, minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required Skills & Experience: EPIC, detail-oriented, BLS (CPR).
• Education: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
• Certifications & Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License, BLS, and certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
• Required Certifications & Licensure: PALS and ACLS preferred.
