Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor Nursing in Milwaukee, WI. This position involves providing specialized inpatient rehabilitation care to patients with various neurological and orthopedic conditions, including stroke, neuro, TBI, MS, Parkinsons, LVAD, Oncology, Trachs, and Transplant. The role includes delivering compassionate, quality care in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient recovery.

Job Details:

• Shift Time: Nights
• Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Required Qualifications: RN certification, BLS certification, diploma or associate degree in Nursing, Wisconsin RN license, 1 year of experience or more
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with stroke, neuro, TBI, MS, Parkinsons, LVAD, Oncology, Trachs, or Transplant patients; experience utilizing EPIC electronic medical record system; familiarity with Lifts including Hoyer and ceiling lifts; excellent communication skills and ability to handle behavioral issues
• Responsibilities include managing patient care involving I/V Pump and I/V insertion/central, PICC and midline catheter care, Tube Feeding Pump, GI/PEG/NG tube management and care, NG tube insertion, wound vac/wound care, indwelling catheter insertion and care, trach care and suctioning, laryngectomy care, drain care, and behavioral support
• Support on the Unit: Charge nurse, may have patient assignment, health unit coordinator, hospitalist, RT, phlebotomy, all available 24/7
• Charting System/Equipment: EPIC (preferred), Alaris, Pyxis
• Lifts: Hoyer lifts, ceiling lifts, sit to stand lifts
• Floating: All other Medical-Surgical areas including Inpatient Boarding; travelers are first to float
• Orientation: 8 hours
• Scheduling: Weekend rotation every third weekend, as needed; holiday every other as needed; no on-call requirement
• Scrub Color: Any, no camouflage or denim; appearance guidelines provided at orientation
• Parking: Free in designated areas
