Job Summary

Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) position in a healthcare setting providing care for patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. The role involves 12-hour day shifts, cardiac telemetry, complex clinical interventions, and collaboration with multidisciplinary support services.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts; 12 hours per shift; 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage is required.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; travel experience; current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; required experience with Epic charting; state or compact nursing license in hand at submission; proficiency in cardiac telemetry, care of ventilated patients, central line and chest tube management, blood product administration, feeding tube care, high-flow nasal cannula, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation, insulin protocols, cardiac drips without titration, noninvasive airway management, peripheral and peripherally inserted central catheter line care, hemodialysis management, wound care, tracheostomy management, surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response or code team procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I experience.
• Additional Information: Patient ratios are 1:4. The role supports patients requiring intermediate or step-down care and may involve management of renal failure, cerebrovascular accidents, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and ventilator-related care. Available interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.
