Job Summary:
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician in Springfield, MO. This position involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of the surgeon and circulating Registered Nurse within the main operating room. The role requires efficiently setting up surgical cases across multiple specialties, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining sterile fields to support high-quality surgical procedures.

Job Details:

• Position: Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician
• Location: Springfield, MO
• Schedule: Days, 4x10 shifts, scheduled between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Graduated from an accredited Surg Tech program; BLS from AHA; 1 year plus Surgical Technologist experience in a hospital setting.
• Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Good working knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, sets, and equipment; ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments; adherence to Universal Precautions; ability to lift and push patients, equipment, and instruments; able to work on call shifts.
• Additional Responsibilities: Demonstrate technical skills related to creating and maintaining sterile fields, performing instrument, sponge, and sharp counts, assisting OR staff, and acting as a resource for new Surgical Technicians and students.
• Experience: Significant Surgical Technologist experience in a hospital setting preferred, with Level 1 trauma experience seen as advantageous.
• Notes: Flexibility to work differing schedules, shifts, and days depending on patient needs. Will work with contaminated instruments and equipment, maintaining strict safety standards.
