Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Location: unspecified. The organization is seeking a dedicated ER nurse to provide high-acuity emergency care in a regional referral center. The position involves floating between units as needed within the emergency department, supporting a patient population primarily over 18 years old, with trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies on the caseload.
Job Details
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
- Education Requirements & Experience: 0 years of experience required; at least 1 year of ER experience preferred; valid state license (compact license must be in hand at submission)
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Position Responsibilities: Provide emergency care, manage trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies, operate Level I Rapid Infuser, Zoll and Phillips defibrillators, interpret dysrhythmias, and work within a high acuity ED that is a regional referral center for trauma, cardiac, and stroke cases.
- Additional Unit Information: Capacity for at least 175 visits and 50 beds; interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory, radiology, and rapid response teams; clinical duties include working in adult ED patients including trauma patients from age 15 and up.
- Submission Requirements: Must include responses regarding prior employment at a Providence facility and provide two references covering at least one year within the past three years.
- Float: Clinician will be required to work in ED holding.
- Special Procedures/Equipment: STEMI care, stroke care, trauma care, ED holding, Level I Rapid Infuser, Zoll defibrillators, Phillips monitors.
