Job Summary
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) needed in a healthcare organization located in the local area. This position involves providing patient care in a Same Day Surgery setting, with responsibilities including managing preoperative and postoperative patients, responding to emergencies, and coordinating with the medical team. The role requires flexibility for occasional on-call shifts and variable start times.
Job Details
- Certifications Required: California RN License, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Education Requirements: Valid California RN license.
- Location Requirements: Candidates must hold a valid California RN license, uploaded within the last two weeks.
- Years of Experience: A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse in a PACU or similar setting.
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Managing preoperative and postoperative care, monitoring patient status, administering treatments and medications, and responding to medical emergencies.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience and community hospital experience.
- Certifications and skills include: Inpatient, Phase I PACU, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, reversal agents, external ventricular drain (EVD), intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, care of ventilated patients, conscious sedation, post-epidural management, general, local, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), nerve blocks, spinal, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain management, PCA pump management, Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale (RASS), bariatrics, ENT, neuro, ophthalmology, orthopedics, vascular.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must upload valid certifications and a Nursys license within the last two weeks.
