Job Summary
Telemetry Nurse, Telemetry, on-site in the healthcare organization. This position involves providing nursing care for adult patients with acute or chronic medical conditions, with a focus on telemetry monitoring. The role requires delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout each shift.

Job Details

Position Description: 27-bed unit with 13 private and 14 semi-private rooms; nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 for telemetry patients and 1:5 for medical-surgical patients. The unit manages patients with diagnoses including post-surgical, total joint, urology, GYN, podiatry, general surgery, and potential stroke cases.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a related setting. Cerner experience preferred.
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week. Every shift begins with a morning or evening huddle.
Additional Information: RNs will be responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips from remote Philips monitors, signing off on their interpretation. The unit has a 24/7 house supervisor, with charge nurses or shift managers overseeing teams. The unit utilizes Cpap or Bipap equipment, with no vents, and may require float to the main hospital or other units, including ICU and ER, based on census needs. Scrubs are navy blue, with specific dress code policies. Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. No call is required, but standby options are available.
