Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Texas This full-time, night-shift position involves providing routine and complex nursing care for adult patients undergoing medical and surgical treatments, including joint replacements, abdominal surgeries, and spinal surgeries. The role requires practicing independently within a clinical setting, demonstrating awareness of patient needs, and coordinating care to ensure positive outcomes.
Job Details
- Position Description: Providing nursing care in a medical/surgical setting for adult patients, with responsibilities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation, aligned with the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of practice. Administers medications and treatments, monitors side effects, documents patient information, and provides education to patients and families.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred, BLS certification (AHA), RN license in the state of Texas or compact license.
- Schedule: Nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, working 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The nurse will manage a unit with adult patients primarily undergoing medical and typical surgical procedures, including joint replacements, abdominal surgeries, and spinal surgeries. Responsibilities include making appropriate care assignments and delegating tasks while ensuring comprehensive patient care.
