Job Summary
ORT (Operating Room Technician) Surgical Technician/Operating Room Tech Location: Not specified. This position involves providing specialized surgical support in a busy operating room environment. The role encompasses assisting during a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and sterile protocols, and supporting anesthetic and surgical teams.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; at least 2 years of relevant experience; additional certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) may be preferred.
• Education and Experience: No specific degree required; minimum of 2 years of OR experience preferred.
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, typically from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Position Type: Acute care, surgical support within an operating room environment.
• Duties: Assistance with a variety of cases including laparoscopic, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurology, urology, gynecology, and ENT. Responsibilities include assembly of sets, decontamination duties, and supporting sterile processing activities.
• Workflow: Support surgical teams in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment with unit-specific orientation provided.
• Call: Some nights and weekends required, including two 12-hour weekend call shifts per month with a 30-minute response time.
• Equipment: Use of Steris and Sterrad sterilization equipment.
• Additional Information: The facility utilizes Cerner electronic charting system and operates with a Level 3 trauma designation.
