Job Summary
The healthcare organization is seeking an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse for a temporary assignment in a high-acuity unit. The role involves providing critical care to a diverse patient population, including trauma, stroke, severe head trauma, and post-surgical patients. The ideal candidate will be self-confident, experienced in ICU settings, and comfortable with high-level patient monitoring and complex clinical procedures.

• Location: [Variable/Generic Healthcare Environment]
• Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts (7 AM 7 PM), with every other weekend requirement
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; 2 years of ICU experience; valid license to submit; LA City Fire & Safety certification; minimum 1-year travel experience preferred; ability to read and interpret Nihon Kohden monitors; experience with critical care drips (e.g., Cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, TPA); familiarity with Ventilator management; experience in trauma, stroke management, and use of bundles such as ABCDE and VAP; Sheath pulling experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Basic EKG dysrhythmia course, pharmacology knowledge, TNCC certification.
• Responsibilities include bedside reporting, managing critical patient needs, and floating to Tele or ER when required.
• The unit handles a variety of complex cases including trauma, GSW, CABG, IABP, CHF, GI bleed, DKA, stroke (TPA), and major transfusions.
• Additional notes: Must be self-confident, familiar with ICU bundles (stroke, cardiac, VAP), and have bedside report experience.
• Charting System: Cerner
