The organization is seeking a registered nurse specializing in the Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) in Reston, Virginia. This position involves providing specialized care for cardiac surgery patients during their primary recovery, focusing on immediate post-surgical stabilization and monitoring in a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.

Job Details

• Position Description: Responsible for caring for cardiac surgery patients in a 4-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:1 for immediate post-surgical recovery and 1:2 for subsequent care. The role includes performing procedures specific to cardiac surgery recovery, utilizing advanced skills such as ACLS training, balloon pump, Impella, Hemosphere, or Acumen systems.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS certification, 1-2 years of experience with cardiac surgery patients, and experience with advanced cardiac recovery procedures.
• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Candidate must be prepared to start within two weeks of the assignment offer, with the assignment lasting approximately eight weeks. The unit emphasizes adherence to specific policies, guidelines, and dress code requirements.
