Job Summary

Sterile Processing Technician, Sterile Processing Tech Sonora, California. The Sterile Processing Technician processes and sterilizes surgical and hospital instruments and equipment, assembles surgical instrument sets and trays, and distributes patient care supplies and equipment. The role also supports instrument reprocessing and technical services across surgical, outpatient, and ancillary care areas.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: High school education or General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent required; associate or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, preferred; Sterile Processing Technician certification required.
• Schedule: Rotating schedule consisting of 10-hour shifts and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include decontaminating, assembling, counting, documenting, sterilizing, and evaluating instruments and equipment; preparing instruments for immediate-use sterilization when necessary; performing diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment and endoscope processors; maintaining sterilization logs and biological testing records; identifying and tracking loaner instruments; assisting with operating room turnover, terminal cleaning, and supply preparation; and providing reprocessing services for emergency, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, operating room, recovery, outpatient endoscopy, and central sterile areas.
