Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Cardiac Floor. This outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation role provides education, exercise programming, monitoring, and clinical support for adult patients recovering from cardiovascular events or managing pulmonary conditions. The position collaborates with a multidisciplinary care team in a structured daytime program.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license; Bachelor of Science in Nursing; minimum of two years of medical-surgical nursing experience and two years of recent intensive cardiac nursing care experience, with other intensive nursing experience considered; cardiac risk-factor intervention and exercise prescription and intervention skills; Telemetry experience; American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: National Certification Corporation (NCC) Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification.
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week; program hours are 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Additional Information: Provides education and exercise programs for cardiac and pulmonary patients in an outpatient day program. The patient population includes adults ages 25 to 90 with recent cardiovascular events or diagnoses such as myocardial infarction, stent placement, coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair or replacement, transplant, heart failure, and stable angina, as well as patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, post-COVID-19 conditions, and other lung diseases. Each patient group is assigned two professionals with a 1:5 clinician-to-patient ratio. Census varies based on group attendance.
