Job Summary

Operating Room Pediatrics Oakland. The Registered Nurse (RN) position supports pediatric surgical services in a multidisciplinary operating room setting. Responsibilities include providing perioperative nursing care for pediatric patients across general, cardiovascular, orthopedic, neurological, otolaryngology, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, dental, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and hematology/oncology procedures.

Job Details

Schedule: 10-hour day shifts with variable 6:45 a.m. or 8:45 a.m. start times, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends; 40 hours per week.
Assignment Dates: 11/17/202602/23/2027.
Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; at least 3 years of experience; required charting system experience with Epic; Level I trauma experience; teaching hospital experience; pediatric general operating room experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification; experience in ambulatory operating room, cardiovascular operating room, general operating room, pediatric cardiovascular operating room, and trauma settings; previous charge experience; Level II trauma experience.
Additional Information: The role supports a multidisciplinary, team-based pediatric surgical environment with multiple surgical and procedural rooms. Clinical services include neurology, orthopedic and spine surgery, otolaryngology, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, dental, cardiac, general surgery, gastrointestinal, and hematology/oncology procedures. Responsibilities may include sterile technique, specimen handling, blood and blood product administration, central venous line care, laparoscopic procedures, orthopedic and spine procedures, pediatric cardiovascular procedures, trauma surgery, airway procedures, and emergency response. Assignment to other departments or campuses may be required based on operational needs.
