Job Summary

Sterile Processing Technician. Responsible for maintaining, processing, and distributing disposable supplies, surgical instruments, and durable medical equipment for patient care. The role includes instrument inspection and reassembly, sterilizer operation, supply restocking, documentation, and preparation of surgical case carts during evening shifts.

Job Details

Schedule: Evening shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Minimum of three years of experience in an acute care hospital, sterile processing, or surgery department, or completion of a sterile processing or central supply technician program; minimum high school education or equivalent; Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, general hospital supplies and equipment, instrument reassembly and disassembly, instrument inspection, operation of sterilizing equipment, documentation, regulatory compliance, and resource management.
Additional Information: Responsibilities include preparing and processing surgical instruments; operating washers, sterilizers, sonic cleaners, steam equipment, plasma equipment, and other sterilizing equipment; documenting sterilizer loads and testing results; quarantining implantable items until biological monitoring is reviewed; restocking carts; preparing surgical case carts; monitoring supplies; reporting equipment malfunctions and questionable loads; and completing assigned duties within established time frames.
