Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Emergency Room. The position provides emergency nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, medication administration, treatment delivery, documentation, and patient and family education. The role collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, supports patient safety and experience, and participates in performance improvement and professional nursing activities.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Education verification; Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) licensure; American Heart Association (AHA) Provider-level Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or TNS certification.
• Schedule: Day shifts with rotating weekends; 12-hour shifts scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process; administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws; documenting patient care; developing and executing individualized patient care plans; providing patient and family instruction; participating in performance improvement, shared governance, professional nursing, unit practice, decision-making, and peer review activities; supporting longitudinal patient care plans; applying critical thinking to patient safety and patient experience; and appropriately escalating concerns through the designated chain of command.
