Description

Job Summary

Emergency Room position in an acute care setting. The role provides emergency care for patients presenting with conditions such as stroke, ST-elevation myocardial infarction, trauma, and acute coronary syndrome. The position requires a 12-hour evening schedule and experience in emergency nursing, including completion of at least one previous travel assignment.

Job Details

Schedule: Evening shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; weekend coverage is required every other weekend, with occasional holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Current license eligible for submission
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Completion of at least one previous travel assignment
Additional Information: The emergency department includes fast-track services, trauma bays, psych/seclusion rooms, and an approximate patient volume of 125140 patients per day. Typical patient assignments are 34 patients per clinician. The role supports emergency presentations including stroke, ST-elevation myocardial infarction, trauma, and acute coronary syndrome. Electronic medical record charting is used. The position includes a one-day unit-specific orientation, with 24/7 support from charge staff, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, intravenous therapy, security, and patient sitters. Ventilator management and laboratory draws may be part of the role. Navy blue scrubs are required.
