Job Summary

Medical Surgical Floor position in an acute care setting. The role provides care to medical and post-operative or surgical patients on a 30-bed unit, with collaboration across nursing and ancillary services.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.; 36 hours per week; every other weekend.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; COVID-19 vaccination; minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical experience; previous travel experience; ability to work as a team member.
• Additional Information: Typical patient assignments have a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. The role includes care for medical and post-operative or surgical patients, telemetry monitoring, and the ability to read and interpret dysrhythmias. A dysrhythmia examination is required. Charge nurses provide clinical supervision and break relief without carrying a patient assignment. Nurse aide coverage includes two aides on day shifts and one aide on night shifts. The role may include telemetry responsibilities, with respiratory therapy and pharmacy services available 24 hours per day. Ventilator care is not required. Unit-specific orientation includes one shift. Navy scrub attire is required.
