Job Summary

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse position providing specialized care to critically ill newborns in a Level III neonatal intensive care setting. The role involves caring for patients with congenital abnormalities, feeders and growers, and ventilated patients while titrating intravenous medications and interpreting cardiac monitoring strips. The schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts with every-other-weekend and holiday coverage.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Two years of neonatal intensive care experience, including experience in a Level III or higher setting; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; ability to read and interpret cardiac monitoring strips; ability to titrate intravenous medications; experience caring for ventilated patients.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; shifts are scheduled from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.; every-other-weekend coverage is required, and holidays are included in the regular staff rotation.
• Additional Information: The position supports a Level III neonatal intensive care unit with a 1:1 or 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratio. Respiratory therapy support is available around the clock, and a neonatologist is present in-house 24/7. The patient population primarily includes newborns with congenital abnormalities, feeders and growers, and ventilated patients. Three shifts of unit-specific orientation are provided, and navy scrub attire is required.
