Job Summary

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) position supporting the care of critically ill and medically complex newborns in a Level III neonatal intensive care setting. The role includes caring for patients with congenital abnormalities, feeding and growth needs, and ventilator requirements while collaborating with in-house neonatology and respiratory therapy teams.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience in a Level III or higher neonatal intensive care setting.
• Schedule: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; scheduled hours are 6:45 AM7:15 PM or 6:45 PM7:15 AM. Every other weekend and holidays are included in the permanent staff rotation.
• Additional Information: The neonatal intensive care unit includes 20 Level III beds with typical patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting cardiac monitoring strips, titrating drips, and caring for ventilated patients. Common patient populations include newborns with congenital abnormalities and feeding or growth needs. Three shifts of unit-specific orientation are provided. Navy scrubs are required.
