Job Summary

Emergency Room Registered Nurse in an evening-shift acute care setting. The position provides care for approximately 250 daily visits across fast-track, treatment, disposition planning, and acute care areas. The role includes caring for varied patient populations, including cardiac, sepsis, stroke, and diabetic emergencies.

Job Details

• Schedule: Evening shifts with 12-hour shifts, typically 6:45 a.m.7:15 p.m. or 6:45 p.m.7:15 a.m.; additional shift start times may include 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience; current license required for submission; certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma experience preferred. First-time travelers are welcome.
• Additional Information: The emergency department includes 24 beds and typically maintains patient ratios of 2:1 to 4:1. Responsibilities may include caring for cardiac, sepsis, stroke, alcohol-related, and diabetic emergency patients. The department has emergency department technicians, phlebotomy support, respiratory therapy coverage, pharmacy coverage, physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday considered the weekend; holiday coverage is also expected. Orientation includes one day on the unit.
