Job Summary

Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Floor. This position provides comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and orthopedic patients throughout admission, treatment, and discharge. The role requires clinical judgment, care coordination, patient advocacy, delegation, education, and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 3 twelve-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage is required every other week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • At least 2 years of nursing experience
  • Previous travel nursing experience
  • Ability to provide competent care to adult patients in medical-surgical and orthopedic settings
  • Ability to administer medications and treatments, perform nursing procedures, assess patient conditions, develop and evaluate individualized care plans, provide patient and family education, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
  • Skills in intravenous therapy, central lines, ports, chest tubes, wound care, drains, tracheostomy care, oxygen administration, noninvasive airway management, blood product administration, neurological and neurovascular assessments, and post-operative orthopedic care
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic documentation and community hospital settings.
• Additional Information: The registered nurse serves as the primary nurse and patient advocate, manages routine and complex patient care, responds to medical and environmental emergencies, supports discharge planning, participates in quality improvement activities, and contributes to staff education and professional development. The role requires strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, critical-thinking, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work effectively amid changing priorities.
