Job Summary
Telemetry Registered Nurse. The position supports patients in a neuroscience-focused telemetry setting, including post-surgical neurological care and varied neurological diagnoses. The role requires comfort with learning a heavy neurological unit and caring for patients with complex neurological conditions.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of telemetry experience; compact state license in hand at submission; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; proficiency with the required electronic medical record system.
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with weekend coverage required every other weekend.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The registered nurse will provide care in a neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry setting with an expected patient ratio of 1:5. Responsibilities may include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, care for patients with Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA), traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, craniotomy, and pre- and post-neurosurgical needs, as well as procedural sedation administration and monitoring, chest tube management, and BiPAP/CPAP management.
