Job Summary

Emergency Room position for a night-shift healthcare professional in an acute-care setting. The role provides emergency care to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, including patients with trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and behavioral health conditions. Pediatric experience is required, with pediatric patients comprising approximately 30% of the patient population.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Assignment dates are 11/30/2026 through 03/01/2027.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Emergency Room travel experience required.
  • Pediatric population experience required.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Los Angeles City Fire Card certifications required.
  • Valid compact state license must be in hand at submission.
• Additional Information:
  • Patient assignments are generally 4:1 across days, nights, and weekends.
  • The role cares for patients with Level II trauma, pediatric emergencies, acute myocardial infarctions, strokes, motor vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds, sepsis, and congestive heart failure.
  • Responsibilities include chest tube insertions, capnography, thrombolytic administration, ventilator care, intravenous medication management, sedation, vasopressor administration, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia management, triage, psychiatric holds, and care for critically ill and trauma patients.
  • Familiarity with antibiotics, vasopressors, opioids, sedation, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, and cardiac medications is required.
  • Support services include respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretary support.
  • Electronic charting experience is required.
