Description
Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery Department: This position provides care for patients requiring high-risk perinatal services in a Level III setting. Responsibilities include supporting labor, delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience; current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications; Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate fetal monitoring or Relias fetal monitoring certification; experience performing sterile vaginal examinations (SVE); compact nursing license in hand at submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a setting managing 200 or more deliveries; candidates with experience managing 100200 deliveries may also be considered.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The role supports high-risk perinatal care in a unit with labor and delivery, antepartum, postpartum, operating room, post-anesthesia care, and triage services. Clinical responsibilities may include assisting with high-risk deliveries and cesarean sections, caring for antepartum and postpartum patients, managing fetal monitoring, supporting neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessment, administering medications and intravenous therapies, providing breastfeeding and discharge education, and caring for patients experiencing preterm labor, preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or other complex perinatal conditions. Weekend coverage is required, and call is not required. Electronic charting is performed in Epic.
