Job Summary

Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Room. Provides safe, individualized, age-specific care to patients and families while supporting holistic care goals. The role uses the nursing process, promotes quality outcomes, advocates for patients and families, and collaborates with the healthcare team in complex or high-risk clinical situations.

Job Details

• Schedule: Evening, 12-hour variable shifts, 36 hours per week. Flexibility is required to work overlap shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., or 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and NIH certifications or comparable certification; comparable Crisis Prevention Institute certification must include an eight-hour class with at least half of the class conducted in person; at least three years of recent Registered Nurse experience, including at least two years in a specialty area; experience in an Emergency Room with more than 50 beds.

  • Performs individualized assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care.
  • Develops and adapts comprehensive care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Evaluates patient and family progress toward goals and modifies interventions as appropriate.
  • Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs using individualized teaching plans.
  • Promotes patient and family participation in care decisions and protects patient and family rights.
  • Coordinates care with healthcare team members and ancillary staff to support patient progress and workflow.
  • Delegates care within team members scope of practice and competency.
  • Documents assessments, care provided, patient responses, education, and progress toward goals.
  • Recognizes communication barriers and uses interdisciplinary resources to support therapeutic relationships.
