Job Summary
Registered Nurse, PACU. This position provides post-anesthesia recovery care for adult and pediatric patients, including orthopedic cases and total joint procedures. The role involves phase I and phase II recovery, preoperative preparation, postoperative monitoring, patient education, and discharge support.
Job Details
- Schedule: 10-hour day shifts from 08001830, 40 hours per week; no weekends or on-call shifts. Holidays are required as they fall within the scheduled assignment.
- Assignment: 10-week assignment beginning 11/16/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; active Registered Nurse license; experience caring for patients in phase I and phase II post-anesthesia recovery; patient ratio experience of 1:2; capability with charting systems; competency in airway assessment, central line care, medication reconciliation, pain management, conscious sedation, nerve blocks, preoperative assessment, postoperative procedures, intravenous access, blood product administration, pediatric patient management, and total joint replacement care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Community hospital experience.
- Additional Information: First-time travelers are accepted. The role supports adult and pediatric patients and includes care for orthopedic conditions, preoperative education, postoperative monitoring, discharge instructions, follow-up calls, and interpretation of laboratory values. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
