Job Summary

Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician, The Dalles, Oregon. The position supports surgical teams by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile fields, and providing instruments, supplies, and medications during procedures. Responsibilities also include equipment readiness, surgical counts, patient transport, and related technical and operational support.

Job Details

Schedule: Day shifts, 10 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week; weekday and weekend call may be required.
Required Qualifications: Accredited surgical technology program; Surgery Technician certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an approved vendor; minimum three years of surgical technician experience, including cesarean-section, robotic, and orthopedic trauma procedures; willingness to take call with a 20-minute response time.
Preferred Qualifications: High school education or equivalent; associate or technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience; scrub technician experience; operating room experience or completion of an operating room training course; Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
Additional Information: Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical cases; assembles operative materials; establishes and maintains an orderly sterile field using aseptic technique; completes instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse; labels solutions according to established standards; cleans equipment and facilities; transports patients; performs clerical and housekeeping duties; and maintains inventory for assigned surgical specialties.
