Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room: Provides perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced acute care setting supporting orthopedic, urology, ear, nose, and throat, and neurological procedures. The role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to patient safety, a positive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively across a varied surgical caseload.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of 2 years of experience; orthopedic trauma experience.
- Schedule: Day shifts consisting of 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. One weeknight of call per week and three weekend call days per month may be required, including 24-hour weekend call shifts. Holiday call may be required.
- Additional Information: The operating room includes 11 suites and averages approximately 18 cases per day. Common procedures include orthopedics, urology, ear, nose, and throat, and neurological cases. The role involves working with robotic and image-guided surgical platforms, including Davinci, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis. Call response time is 15 minutes. A one-week department-specific orientation is provided. Scrubbing is not required for registered nurses. Travelers must remain flexible to work when needed and support a fast-paced clinical environment.
