Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Emergency Room. The position provides emergency nursing care across a diverse patient population in a high-volume acute care setting. The role requires strong emergency department competencies, electronic charting experience, and flexibility to support weekend and holiday coverage.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week; weekend coverage is generally every other weekend and may increase according to unit needs.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in emergency nursing.
  • Compact nursing license must be in hand at submission.
  • Required certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
  • Electronic charting experience required.
  • Must be available to work 3 of 5 designated holidays.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Community hospital experience preferred.
  • Long-term acute care experience preferred.
• Additional Information:
  • Patient ratio is approximately 1:4 across day, night, and weekend shifts.
  • No call is required.
  • Care is provided to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
  • The department supports a broad range of emergency diagnoses, including stroke and ST-elevation myocardial infarction receiving.
  • Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, radiology, physical therapy, interpretation services, social services, pharmacy, lift teams, rapid response teams, and unit secretaries.
  • Electronic charting is completed using Epic.
  • Registered nurses wear navy blue scrubs.
  • Time-off and specific scheduling requests must be submitted with the initial application.
