Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical With Telemetry. This role supports a high-acuity, fast-paced medical-surgical environment caring for acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. Responsibilities include neurological assessments, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, interdisciplinary coordination, and maintaining patient safety.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Current state nursing license with license verification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Ability to read basic rhythm strips before beginning the assignment.
• Additional Information:
  • Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond to changes in real time.
  • Support stroke core measures, including dysphagia screening, patient education, and care plans.
  • Administer medications using barcode medication administration standards with a focus on safety and accuracy.
  • Coordinate care with providers, therapy, and case management.
  • Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover environment.
  • Maintain focus on fall prevention, skin integrity, and patient safety.
  • Work collaboratively through primary and team nursing models.
