PCU RN – Travel Opportunity in Rapid City, SD
Overview:

Pay Package:
$50 per hour or $1800 per week
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of PCU RN experience (please specify if less than 1.5 years; approval needed for less).
- Ability to manage adults with diverse diagnoses, including CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors.
- Strong clinical judgement and thorough physical assessment skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, including Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed, and other antihypertensives.
- Ability to float to ICU and ED, with ICU RN qualified to float to ED and PCU RN qualified to float to ICU.
- Knowledge of hospital equipment such as Epic EMR system, Alaris, Omnicell, and proper blood product administration.
- Must meet facility-specific experience requirements if outside specialty.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Completion of an approved nursing education program.
- Proven experience with cardiac and vasoactive medication management.
- Experience with adult inpatient units including Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, and ICUs preferred.
Other Requirements:
- South Dakota RN licensure.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Residents must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility.
- Must wait one year before returning as a traveler if previously employed as permanent staff.
- Ability to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations.
- No on-call hours scheduled, though may be requested for low census.
- Upcoming orientation includes 2 days of in-class/online education plus 2 shifts with a preceptor.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
