Description
We are seeking an experienced Interim RN House Supervisor for an acute care setting in Walla Walla, Washington. This is a travel assignment with a night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00) on a 6ON/8OFF rotation. This role provides clinical and operational oversight across units during off-shifts, ensuring safe staffing, patient flow, and rapid response to changing conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the administrative and clinical leader during assigned shift, coordinating hospital-wide operations.
- Manage staffing, assignments, and call-ins; collaborate with unit leaders to ensure appropriate coverage and acuity-based placement.
- Oversee patient throughput, admissions, discharges, and transfers; coordinate with ED, inpatient units, and ancillary departments.
- Respond to rapid changes in patient condition, emergencies, and escalations; support code/rapid response processes per policy.
- Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, infection prevention practices, documentation requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Provide coaching, conflict resolution, and real-time decision support to nursing and interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Washington or compact license eligible to practice in WA, as applicable).
- Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care RN experience; prior House Supervisor/charge/lead experience strongly preferred.
- Current BLS required.
- Current PALS required.
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to work nights and maintain the 6 on / 8 off schedule reliably.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer skills.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Frequent walking, standing, and rapid response across multiple units.
- Ability to lift/move patients and equipment with assistance and in accordance with safe patient handling policies.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a patient-centered approach in all interactions.
