Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU nursing experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Active New York State RN license.
• Nursys license verification report covering the active New York RN license and all other active RN licenses.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Submission Requirements

• Updated resume documenting at least 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience and previous travel nursing experience.
• Completed skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Driver’s license showing an address consistent with the candidate demographics on file.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Nursys license verification report for all active RN licenses.
• Requested time off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission.

Unit Overview

Common Diagnoses and Patient Conditions

• Neurological conditions
• Cardiac conditions and cardiovascular stepdown
• Trauma
• Respiratory conditions, including COPD
• Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Myocardial infarction (MI)
• Postoperative care

Specialty Equipment

• Temporary pacemakers
• Chest tubes
• Arterial lines (A-lines)
• BiPAP
• Neptune Vapo system

Ventilator Requirements

• The unit cares for patients on chronic ventilators who are unable to be weaned.
• Respiratory therapy (RT) assists with ventilator management.

Additional Requirements

• Flexibility to float to other units as needed.
• Ability to care for adult intermediate-care patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and postoperative conditions.
• Availability to work night shifts and adapt to unit staffing needs.
