The telemetry department serves as an intermediary unit, providing continuous monitoring for patients who need more observation than a med-surg unit but less than intensive care. You will use advanced telemetry equipment to track heart rhythms, vital signs, and respond quickly to changes in patient status. To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), an active RN license, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Proficiency with telemetry monitoring systems and strong clinical judgment are essential. Experience in cardiac or telemetry care is required, and you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting. Recommended skills include excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to interpret and document cardiac data accurately. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is important.
