This Med Surg/Tele opportunity is designed for nurses who enjoy building strong clinical skills while working within a supportive, collaborative environment. The role centers on caring for adults and older adults whose needs range from acute medical conditions to stable telemetry monitoring, providing an excellent balance of challenge and professional growth. The unit typically cares for patients with a mix of diagnoses such as heart failure, COPD, pneumonia, post-surgical medical management, diabetes complications and other complex chronic conditions that require both medical-surgical care and continuous cardiac monitoring. Nurses on this team are responsible for performing thorough assessments, managing medications and drips within policy, monitoring telemetry rhythms, coordinating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and educating patients and families on treatment plans and discharge needs. A typical day includes receiving and giving structured handoff reports, reviewing telemetry rhythms, performing initial and ongoing assessments, collaborating closely with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, case management and pharmacy, and documenting care accurately in a modern EMR system. You can expect to work within patient assignments that support safe practice and allow for meaningful interaction, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, quality metrics and evidence-based care. Float: sitter for ICU patient or to take med/surg assignment in ICU (overflow)
