Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Perform 60-minute evaluations and treatments, utilizing clinical reasoning to progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
• Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision and completing student evaluations
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory agency requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in good standing (must meet applicable state requirements)
• Compliance with discipline-specific State Practice Act and all relevant regulatory agency standards
• Ability to complete thorough clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, safe patient handling, and infection control practices
• Ability to perform in an ethical manner consistent with discipline-specific professional codes of conduct

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
• Experience with student supervision and clinical education programs
• Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiative participation
• Active involvement in professional development activities, continuing education, or professional organizations
