Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients across multiple units including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Document patient care according to established standards of care
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Apply critical thinking skills to support patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN License (current and in good standing)
• CPR certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ICU experience required; must be willing to float down to Medical Surgical units as needed
• Extensive Cardiac experience required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification will be required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a float pool or multi-unit environment
• Familiarity with Stroke/Neuro patient populations
• Experience with Step-Down or progressive care unit settings
