Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed PICU and/or 13-bed IMCU within a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital environment
• Manage a diverse pediatric patient population including respiratory distress, CRRT, ECMO, post-arrest, trauma, neuro, surgical post-ops, DKA, chronic vents, and tracheostomy patients
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Residents, Fellows, Attending MDs, Hospitalists, Advanced Practice Providers, RTs, and ancillary staff (CNA/PCT)
• Operate and manage ventilators alongside Respiratory Therapists; utilize equipment including Pyxis with barcode scanning, GE Dash, Servi I, and long-term vents
• Float within the ICU cluster (NICE, PICU, Burn PICU, IMCU) as needed; travelers are first to float
• Document and administer medications using EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication system

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required for PICU placement; 2–5 years of clinical experience in specialty required overall
• Some PICU experience required for IMCU candidates due to floating requirements
• Recent EPIC EMR experience required
• At least one previous travel nursing assignment required
• Must test negative for nicotine
• Ability to adhere to a manager/scheduler-driven schedule, including every other weekend and holidays as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with CRRT, ECMO, and management of complex pediatric diagnoses including trauma and post-operative surgical patients
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and barcode scanning workflows
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma or academic teaching hospital setting
• Comfort with rapid acuity changes and floating across multiple ICU units
