Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 19:00–07:30) | Every other weekend and every other holiday | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and postoperative nursing care to pediatric patients in a 10-bed Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Unit
• Deliver specialized postoperative care within a 4-bed Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit (PSOU) for patients requiring overnight observation or extended recovery up to 23 hours following surgery
• Monitor and assess pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia, identifying and responding to changes in condition
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary surgical and anesthesia team to ensure safe patient transitions through the perioperative continuum
• Float within scope of practice to support unit needs as required
• Complete required orientation modules as assigned for the specialty

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in a pediatric PACU or perioperative setting
• Experience caring for pediatric surgical observation patients requiring extended recovery
