Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients and those in active delivery within a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit
Manage patient care across labor rooms, triage and overnight observation rooms, operating rooms, and PACU settings
Support patients in an Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED) setting as needed
Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor, delivery, and recovery, escalating concerns appropriately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Current BLS certification required
Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience in a mid- to large-sized hospital setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience in high-volume Labor and Delivery units with approximately 200+ deliveries per month
Familiarity with triage, overnight observation, and OBED workflows
Experience working in or alongside Labor and Delivery ORs and PACU environments
