Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0700–1930), with every-other-weekend requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 33-bed Ortho-Neuro unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients undergoing elective orthopedic surgeries (hips, knees, shoulders), fractures, and neuro/spine surgeries, as well as general MedSurg patients
• Manage IV fluids and PCA pumps; titration of drips (e.g., heparin) is not required on this unit
• Collaborate with Patient Care Techs (PCTs) who assist with vitals, FSBS, ADLs, and Foley discontinuation
• Coordinate with Respiratory Therapy for patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, or High Flow oxygen as needed
• Float to other MedSurg units as needed; travelers are first to float, and if assigned to a Tele unit, patients will be within the nurse's skillset
• Document and chart using EPIC; complete a brief unit orientation including one day of EPIC training and one day of floor orientation with a preceptor

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for the state of West Virginia
• BLS certification (must be current/unexpired)
• EPIC experience required
• Experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pump management
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required for submittal

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a MedSurg, Ortho, or Neuro inpatient setting
• Familiarity with post-surgical patient care, including elective joint replacement and spine surgery populations
• Comfort with remote telemetry monitoring workflows (RNs are not required to read strips independently)
