Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Float Pool)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts | Rotating weekends and holidays | Travelers are expected to work two of the three winter holidays | Block scheduling is not available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across 4–6 Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units as part of a float pool assignment
• Support staffing needs throughout the hospital by floating between units serving a diverse patient population
• Monitor and independently interpret cardiac rhythms for telemetry patients
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Complete facility onboarding modules prior to start date, no later than one week before the assignment begins

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of current, strong Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Float Pool experience
• Active Maryland RN license or compact license — must be in hand at time of submittal; no exceptions
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to independently interpret cardiac rhythms
• Local travelers are welcome — rates are the same regardless of residency proximity

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with MEDITECH electronic health records system
• Familiarity with float pool environments across multiple unit types
