Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 3 12-hour shifts/week | Expected 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Prioritize and manage care for a neurological and medical-surgical patient population, including multitasking across complex assignments
• Perform and maintain skills including IV starts, basic wound care, surgical drain management, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Utilize unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Document accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Deliver patient- and family-centered care including bedside shift report and inclusion of patients and families in the plan of care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid and in good standing)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to float per unit policy; contract labor is first to float by rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a neurological or neuro med/surg setting
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Experience working in a facility with Stroke, Trauma, or Chest Pain center designations
