Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 31-bed Medical Surgical floor serving a diverse patient population including Cardiac, IDDM, COPD, Trauma, Orthopedic, ENT, Urology, and Pain patients
• Manage a patient assignment of 1:5–6 with nurse aide support; must be comfortable with a high patient turnover rate of approximately 10–12 patients per day
• Titrate Heparin drips on the floor as part of routine patient management
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently; telemetry techs are available on unit but RN interpretation is required
• Collaborate with an in-house Charge Nurse each shift and a House Supervisor available in-house 24/7
• Adhere to facility dress code: Royal Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in West Virginia or a compact state
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Demonstrated experience titrating drips, including Heparin infusions
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or Stepdown setting with high patient volume and turnover
• Familiarity with common diagnoses including Cardiac, COPD, Trauma, and Orthopedic conditions
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and discharges
