Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI, and surgical rule-outs
• Manage patient assignments with nurse-to-patient ratios of up to 1:7; candidates must be comfortable with this ratio
• Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results as directed by physician orders
• Monitor and manage patients on intermittent BiPAP; unit does not utilize ventilators
• Utilize telemetry monitoring supported remotely by monitor technicians
• Float to other units as needed based on census; travelers are prioritized for floating assignments

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license; any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• BLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays as scheduled (typically every other weekend)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting with high-acuity patient populations
• Familiarity with heparin drip titration protocols and aPTT monitoring
• Experience working alongside PCTs and in a telemetry-monitored environment
